R.I.P Prince

On April 21, 2016 we lost one of the greatest musical genius's of all time, Prince "Rodgers" Nelson. I'm still in disbelief because i never thought the world would lose such a magical creature. My whole childhood I never thought about losing Prince nor Michael Jackson. I know that everyone will die one day but some people you believe are untouchable, and Prince was one of those people.

Prince was one of the first people to make me realize that being yourself and loving yourself as you are is more than okay. Why? Because no matter how you look or how you dress, if you have something special about you people will love you regardless. The best part of that, is not caring if they love you or not because at the end of the day you are comfortable in your skin.

I was not even born when Prince put his first album out, in fact I was born the year he put out his 13th studio album "Diamonds and Pearls" with the New Power Generation (1991). So I was born 13 years after his first album (For You, 1973). Prince has made music for over 38 years. Over three decades of people, have had a chance to enjoy his art. I am so happy my mother played his music for me as a kid because without it I wouldn't have been able to learn what it truly means to be a musician.

I could go on and on about how dope of a person Prince was to me but that would take pages... For now i'll just leave you with my ultimate Prince playlist. Enjoy!
